VWR, E&I Sign Contract

Five-year laboratory supplies and services contract was awarded to VWR after an extensive competitive RFP process

VWR, acquired by Avantor in 2017, has been awarded a five-year laboratory supplies and services contract by E&I Cooperative Services (E&I), effective July 1, 2018.

E&I is the only member-owned, non-profit purchasing cooperative solely focused on serving the needs of education. This new five-year contract, with a five-year extension option, was awarded to VWR by E&I after an extensive competitive request for proposal (RFP) process. The E&I RFP process is validated by the National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) and meets the needs of EDGAR/Uniform Guidance. All proposals were scored against strict criteria such as breadth and depth of products and value-added solutions offered and additional discounts, incentives, and value for members.

“We are excited to continue our ongoing relationship with VWR,” stated Tom Fitzgerald, chief executive officer, E&I. “E&I is committed to ensuring our members utilize only best-in-class contracts, and the value brought by VWR directly reflects our core mission. We are proud to be able to offer this enhanced contract to our members nationwide.”

“This new contract will support a diverse membership across K-12, higher education, and the healthcare industry,” shared Jay Hexamer, senior vice president, Education & Medical Research and Healthcare, Americas Sales for VWR. “Through continued collaboration, we look forward to providing solutions that meet the evolving industry demands, ultimately, supporting the E&I members to set science in motion.”
